Project Overview
Uniformity Labs is a leading-edge provider of ferrous metal powders used in the 3D printing industry. Using vacuum induction gas atomization and client specified engineered solid metal billets to powder reduction, the final product is then separated, processed, packaged, and shipped to customers around the world. The nuts and bolts of the process relies on the VIGA-35, custom built by German company ALD Technologies, and shipped to site where it is assembled into the “Atomizer”. Supporting utilities are installed on a 2,000-sf structural concrete pad at the exterior on which a 3,000-gallon liquid argon tank and a two-tower basin with 225 gallons is placed, along with a water-cooling system. In addition, an interior hot and cold tank with a volume of 1,550 gallons each supports the atomizer directly. All heat dissipation is via a heat exchanger at the exterior. Existing power to the suite was upgraded to 1000amp to provide the needed power to all the equipment.
