Claudia Folzman brings over two decades of construction experience and is responsible for day-to-day operations of the business. Claudia oversees the management of business development and supervises the project management and project engineering staff. Working on nearly all aspects of construction management has provided Claudia with a unique breadth of experience. She attended San Diego State University, graduated with a degree in civil engineering and has worked some of the industry’s largest construction companies such as Turner and DPR. Claudia has held positions as Field Engineer, Cost Engineer, Purchasing Agent, Assistant Superintendent, and Project Engineer.
Iron Construction was founded in 2001 with a vision to create a non-traditional commer¬cial general contracting company where executive management was actively involved with projects, and more importantly, clients. Iron has excelled at projects that challenge most commercial contractors, specifically working in spaces that are occupied, projects that require value engineering to be successful regarding quality, constructability and cost and projects with aggressive schedules.
Claudia has been featured as an industry expert by local and regional media including The Registry and Silicon Valley Business Journal. She was voted CREW Silicon Valley’s Chapter MVP for the 2016 “ELEVATE” Campaign, honoring diversity and women’s Leadership in commercial real estate, she is the recipient of Bisnow’ s 2016 Power Women Award, recognizing accomplished, inspirational women leaders in Silicon Valley commercial real estate, the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber’s Business Woman of the Year Award, she received the 2012 Woman of Influence Award by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, is the 2012 Past President of IFMA Silicon Valley (International Facilities Management Association), the 2013 Past President of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Silicon Valley and currently sits on the Heritage Bank of Commerce Advisory Board.
Claudia is heavily involved in local philanthropic work and organizes/supports various charity and events such as Iron Construction’s Annual Charity Golf Classic, benefitting Operation Care and Comfort (a charity that sends care packages to American troops overseas and in conflict areas), the Annual Silicon Valley Commercial Real Estate Community Clean-Up Day (benefitting the Friends of Los Gatos Creek), the Annual Iron Construction Thanksgiving Food Drive & Cocktail Party (benefitting Loaves and Fishes Family Kitchen, a local Catholic Charity that feeds the hungry and homeless 365 days a year).
She participated in the “Rebuilding Together” of the 49er Academy, is an active Rotarian (San Jose Chapter) and was heavily involved in Rotary projects such as the renovation to the Boys & Girls Club center and the construction of the Rotary Play Garden. In her free time, she enjoys investing, cheering on the San Jose Sharks, collecting fine wines and playing bocce ball.
